Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order No. 202.67, the IRCSD Board of Education Meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 22nd at 6:30 PM at the High School LGI will be closed to in-person presence by the public. The meeting will, however, be streamed live for virtual public viewing through the District’s Facebook page beginning at 6:30 PM. Additionally, the meeting will be recorded and subsequently transcribed. If you have any questions, please contact the District Clerk at 315-642-3441.

The Indian River Central School District was informed by Jefferson County Public Health today, October 16, 2020, of a positive case of COVID-19 affecting a student at Evans Mills Primary School. The student has not been present in school for more than 21 days and had very limited exposure to students or staff on the last day of attendance. Indian River Superintendent Mary Anne Dobmeier, Assistant Superintendent Troy Decker, Social Studies Coach Vicki McCullouch and Upstate National Bank representative Shannon Smith presented a check for ten thousand dollars to Jefferson County SPCA employees Lindsay Hess, Lexi Norris, Katelyn Drohan, and Dex the Great Dane on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. The check represents the over one million pennies collected by students at Indian River Central School District during the previous school year as part of the1 Million Pennies Project.

Indian River Central School District has contacted Jefferson County Public Health based on a report of a positive case of COVID-19 affecting a staff member at the Intermediate School. The staff member was asymptomatic, and initial exposure is believed to have occurred outside of the school hours. Update on Fall 2020 Sports

Today, Indian River Central School District joined other school districts in Jefferson County and the Sandy Creek Central School District, in making the difficult decision to postpone our participation in Fall 2020 interscholastic athletic competitions until March of 2021. In lieu of Fall interscholastic competitions, IRCSD will begin offering in-district intramural sports and other extracurricular activities in the coming weeks.

This is a friendly reminder that the first day of school for students in cohort A is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8th. All students in cohort Z will attend their first day of school on Thursday, September 10th. Virtual learning on Wednesday is not likely to begin in earnest until next week, though some of our secondary teachers have already reached out to students with informal ideas for this Wednesday.
