IRCSD 1 Million Pennies Project - March 9 Update

We are off to a great start on our 1 Million Pennies Project. Students across the district have been learning through the collection of pennies. They are counting, debating, calculating, drawing, and most importantly, discovering and growing. We are almost there with a total of 625,136 pennies so far! They are proudly displayed in our high school lobby, and more are counted and added weekly. We want to thank all of our students, faculty and community members that have contributed to the projects success so far! We can’t wait to see what 1 million looks like!

If you want to donate, please send in your pennies with any Indian River student or teacher. You can also stop by any of our local businesses. Northern Credit Union donated $1,000 worth of pennies to our project and have set up an account for the project, so you can also stop in to any of the Northern Credit Union branches across the north country and donate to our project directly. We also want to thank Community Bank for their donation, and Upstate Bank for their support in this project as well. As a reminder, after we’ve collected 1 million pennies and our students, faculty, and community have had an opportunity to view the pennies, they will all be donated to the Jefferson County SPCA.
