Professional Development Task Force
The Professional Development Task Force has existed for several years in the District and has, as its main purpose, the unification and systemic delivery of professional development opportunities to all District staff in meeting the needs of our 21st century learners. This has been done in keeping with the District's Personnel Development Plan (see related file below).
We have successfully planned, facilitated and implemented our own summer constructivist conferences for the past four summers (2007 - 2010) in order to spread the utilization of constructivist and Understanding by Design theory and practice in the District's classrooms.
Besides being an integral force in planning and implementing our summer constructivist conference, the professional development task force has most recently served as a smaller "working" group on behalf of the larger professional development plan committee for the District. This group has facilitated adoption by the PDP committee of an updated mission statement for professional development for the District, forming the basis of a revised PDP plan for the District. Once this updated plan has been reviewed and approved by the PDP committee and the Board of Education, it will be posted on this site.
